WHAT WE DO
KMSS through its different activities always try to facilitate an enabling environment where poor people could exercise their basic human rights to make their life more dignified and also can come out from poverty through securing livelihood.
HIV/AIDS Prevention Program
KMSS is being responsible to implement HIV/AIDS Prevention Program with different high-risk groups since 2000 and presently implements two National Programs for People Who Inject Drugs (PWIDUs), MSM & Hijra’s aiming harm reduction as well as HIV/AIDS prevention.
Drug Addiction Treatment Program
KMSS has been operating first government licensed Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Khulna City since 1999. In this center, KMSS provides Indoor/Outdoor service, Treatment and Detoxification, Sports and Cultural Events, Counselling and the best care possible.
Health Care Service Project
KMSS is operating a health care service center known as KMSS Health Center located in Khulna city by its core fund & from service charges of the patients. KMSS use to provide outdoor and indoor services for poor women, men and children with a minimum service charge.
Children Health Care and Rights
KMSS believes, children have basic rights to education, balance diet, health and nutrition, protection, participation, recreation, safe water, sanitation and hygiene. KMSS is working for schooling all the children and to decrease child labors and other child abuses.
Livelihood and Disaster Management
KMSS have been working in Bangladesh for almost two decades to help poor, vulnerable and distressed population of our society. In order to response immediately for the SIDOR, AILA, BULBUL, Amphan affected helpless people, KMSS took a brawny part on those calamities in the Southwest region of Khulna.
Partnership with other Organization
KMSS believes that alleviation of poverty and addressing the root causes of poverty is not possible through a single organization. So KMSS programmatic strategies is partnership, that means working with other different organizations.
TB Care and Prevention Program
KMSS is implementing TB Control Program in Dhaka South and North City Corporation and Khulna City Corporation funded by Global Fund and Managed by BRAC since 2010. In those mentioned areas KMSS is covering a total number of 30 wards.
Primary Health Care Program
KMSS has been implementing a unique example of public-private partnership program, Urban Primary Health Care Service Delivery program to provide reproductive and other primary health care services targeting the poor peoples in Khulna, Rangpur and Dhaka City Corporation.
Economic Development Program
Focusing on the hard core poor and vulnerable community of the society, KMSS initiated its Micro Credit Program aims to reduce dependency of poor community people on local money lenders and creating savings attitude among the poor people.
Leadership Development and Training
KMSS use to train their group members before disbursing loans. KMSS facilitated 60 numbers of skills development training (fish culture, gardening, sewing, cow/goat rearing, poultry farming, etc.) for 718 savings groups of a total of 11299 members.
Formation of Self-Help Group (SHG)
Under direct observation and technical support of KMSS, 2 Self Help Groups (SHG) were formed at Khulna City Corporation. One with Recovering Injective Drug Dependents namely “Light for Life (LFL)” and another one with Female Sex Workers namely “Dhumketo Nari Kallyan Sangha (DNKS)”.
Awareness Building Programs
KMSS performs various awareness building activities in different issues with community people. KMSS and Rotary International are working together in Khulna City to aware mass population on drinking safe water, use of healthy sanitation, drink arsenic free water and other different environmental issues in a regular way.
Anti Drugs Abuse Campaign
KMSS leads the Drugs Abuse Campaign to raise awareness about the major challenge that illicit drugs represent to society as a whole, and especially to the young. The goal of the campaign is to mobilize support and inspire people to act against drug use.
Women Empowerment & Rights
KMSS is working for women empowerment and violence against women by engaging relevant govt. authorities and public representatives. KMSS is implementing Vulnerable Group Development (VGD) Program for ultra-poor women to improve their live, livelihood as well as empowerment.
Income Generation Activities
To empower the landless and the disadvantaged people of the society, KMSS initiated its programs with a vision of poverty reduction, upgrading living standard, educating and skill development, and facilitating loan to those who are deprived of general banking facilities.
COVID-19 Emergency Response
As a part of our social responsibilities and particularly in response to this global pandemic situation of Covid-19 outbreak, KMSS with the financial support of FCDO, UKaid, and under the umbrella of Concern Worldwide and MJF took the lead role particularly at Khulna Division.
Rights, Democracy & Good Governance
KMSS has been awarded to implement Strengthening Local Governance for Establishing Rights of Local Communities (SLG-ERLC), which aims to ensure excluded people’s rights particularly for widow, destitute, extreme poor, old age, disable and Dalit population.
Participation in Different Events
KMSS do participate in various National & International events every year. KMSS members participate in the Rally and discussion session for the relevant day and offer special services for our clients. KMSS also use to maintain close liaison with other organizations.
